Reports to: Consultant – Paediatric Cardiology
About the role
To provide comprehensive specialist care for paediatrics with cardiovascular conditions through accurate diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing follow-up, with the aim of improving cardiovascular health outcomes and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions
- Implement patient care management plans
- Conduct ward rounds in the specialty area.
- Participate in training programmes for health Professionals in Paediatric Cardiology.
- Supervise medical officers, interns and trainees
- Identify procurement needs of the department for equipment, drugs and other logistics
- Participates in preparation of departmental work plans, budgets and reports.
- Prepare duty rosters.
Requirements
- MBChB or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution
- A Master of Medicine degree in Paediatrics and Child Health or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
- Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology or a Masters in Paediatric Cardiology from a recognized Institution.
- Should be registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
- Must possess a valid practicing license.
- Working experience of at least three (3) years at a Medical Officer level.
