Reports to: Associate Consultant – Adult Cardiology

About the role

To participate in the management of adult cardiovascular patients. The Medical Officers who will be appointed shall undergo fellowship program for specialisation in Cardiology during their time of service in UHI.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, clerk, admit and discharge patients.
  • Develop patient treatment plans.
  • Collect data for research.
  • Initiate and carryout investigations.
  • Update patient records.
  • Guiding patients and caregivers on treatment plans.
  • Participate in ward rounds and in the specialty area.
  • Supervision of medical interns and trainees

Requirements

  • MB.Ch.B from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Medicine (Internal Medicine) or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Should be registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
  • Must possess a valid practicing license.
